This morning I woke up at the crack of dawn (which I have been doing everyday) and today I went with Jeff to his morning show. We drove an hour south along the coast. After Jeff's show he dropped me off (and went to do 2 more shows) at Pacific Fair, which was a HUGE shopping center. I walked so much today my legs are killing me.
I had intented on catching a movie to kill the time but movie tickets were $15 and I couldn't make myself spent that much on a movie. I did a little shopping and bought a few things. Nothing with AUSTRALIA plastered, yet. I wanted to get some clothes for the kids and myself that were native to the Aussie style. I bought a dress and matchy shirts for the kids at the cutest kids store...seriously I could have laid down some MAJOR cash, the kids clothes here are SO cute. Shopping for those two are my biggest weakness:) I contained my spending to a minimum but I did get an idea for Ava's bedroom decor. I've been wanting to have Jeff's travels be more apart of our decor (besides the magnets on the frig). I'm going to do umbrellas. I found the cutest hat shop that had umbrellas hanging upside down from the ceiling. It was so colorful and beautiful, I LOVED it. The umbrella in that shop were around $50 SOOOO I'm on the looking out for something more in my price range. It will be a fun thing to hunt for on our travels.
After 6 hours of shopping and people watching Jeff picked me up and we headed to the Gold Coast Beach just a few blocks away. The sun was setting and view was beautiful.
The sand is white and clean, the water is clear and fresh feeling.
It is their winter here so we didn't exactly strip down into our swimsuits but we did wade in the water and unexpectantly had a few waves crash upon us.

Yummy Aussie dessert made for us last night

Tonight we went downtown to search the markets that are set up on the weekends.
I found some fun buys, my favorite is my "April" neclace. A man used silver wire to form my name and attached it to a neclace, it so personal and special. Too it reminds me of the "Carrie" neclace on Sex and the City except not as classy.
On our walk though the market there was a large group of people gathered dancing to music. I stoped to watch and realized that is was dance lessons..FREE dance lessons to latin music. It was set us like an exercise class, the instructor was at the front of everyone using a wireless mic and shouting out the dance moves then deomonstraing them as music blared. IT WAS AMESOME!!! And there was a ton of people dancing...I WANTED at join them but the guys I was with had other plans, including my husband, bummer! However he did promise to come back NEXT Friday with me, when it is just the two of us and learn to dance with me. I can hardly wait:)

I am just going to live vicariously through you! What fun you are having!! And I LOVE the umbrella idea! Definitely share pics when you decorate with them - I have seen them used at baby showers with little rubber duckies hanging down - too cute!
Well enjoy your time!
I am so jealous! It sounds like you are having the most amazing time. Love the umbrella idea! I've seen it done at a restaurant here and it looks really cool. Be safe!!!!
