Overall...it was a wonderful trip. Honestly my favorite part was just spending so much time with Jeff. I went with him several times to his shows and watched him perform (he really is awesome at what he does...he has the kids in the palm of his hand).
(It did pay off when we found a beautiful umbrella to begin Ava's collection) We walked along the beach at Surfers Paradise one night. The beating of the waves and walking next to my man just seemed pefect as we collected sea shells.
Other activites...We saw 4 movies at the theatre, played several games of pool (which I got KILLED at every time), walked around the downtown area, and the best part was that Jeff cooked almost every night (granted we grilled out and I'm a bit sick of burgers...but I didn't have to cook). Seriously I had NO responsibilites. I read 4 books and worked on a few crafty projects. It truely was a vacation.
We flew back on Saturday and on all 3 planes it took to get back we had an empty seat between us. One the way over I was squeezed between 2 strangers and didn't sleep a wink. I didn't sleep much more coming back. But I got to live Saturday twice (with the time difference). I watched 5 movies on the plane from Sydney to San Fran while Jeff snoozed away, the flight was definately the worst part of the trip for me. When we finally got home I slept for 15 hours then drove 5 hours to pick up the kids from Jeff's parents....who officially moved while we were gone:( And now live light years away from us;)
I'm still struggling to get back into the central standard time zone. It's 1am and I 'm wide awake. Of course it isn't helping that I take naps during the day..but seriously I'm so exhausted. I guess I'll have to gradually work back into my time zone.
Jeff flew out Monday morning to Seattle and missed getting to see the kids. It will be a month of being away when he finally gets to see Ty and Ava. (they miss you daddy!)
Ty was thrilled to see me and for the next 24 hours had to be touching some part of my body at ALL times. Ava was LESS then thrilled. At first she didn't know who I was and wouldn't come to me, then cried when I picked her up. Once she allowed me to touch her, she only wanted granni. She was MAD at me!! It took her about 2 days (and getting away from granni) to finally get things back to normal. Once we got home I pulled the plug on the passy. We are going cold turkey and she's going pretty good. She only really used it to sleep, now she cries for a few minutes when I lay her down...Ty has been on his best behavior for me. Saying TONS of "yes mam" and doing EVERYTHING I asked. He is great kid and seems to have matured while I was gone.
Ava just cracks me up with her fisty yet goofy personality. It's good to be HOME!

I am sure you are glad to be back to your babies! But I bet the whole Aussie trip reminded you of being in college - road trips with just you two. Aw.
So...I have three questions:
1) What does Jeff do?
2) What 4 books did you read?
3) What movies did you watch on the plane?
Bekki-
1. Jeff has a unique job that is really hard to explain..but I'll try. Basically he works for a company called All for Kidz. There are about 15 guys that travel the states (and other countries) and talk to elementary students about NED (which stands for Never give up, Encourage other, and Do your best)He show consists mainly of yo-yo tricks, jokes, motivation talk, with a little juggling and magic tricks.
www.thenedshow.com is the link to him company. There is a short video you can watch that explains it.
2. I read 4 books by Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook, Message in a Bottle, True Believer, and Three Weeks with my Brother (this one was my favorite!!)
3. Movies I watched on the way back. What happens in Vegas, Casablanca, Horton Hears a Who, Leather Heads, Vantage Point(my favorite), and Married Life.
good work on going cold turkey with the pacifier. everything i have done with the girls has been cold turkey - bottles for both at age 1 and a pacifier for anna at age 2.5 - she didn't start taking it til she was about 18 months which is weird -
i am so jealous of your trip and your time with Jeff - what a great celebration of how it all began! I love the umbrella - can't wait to see what you have in store for Ava's ceiling!
Wow, what a vacation! Sounds like a dream. I like the umbrella, too.
Oh wow - what a rewarding job! That really sounds like a neat job. Way to go Jeff!
As for N.S. books - oh my! I LOVED LOVED LOVED 3 Weeks w/ my Bro. GREAT book. You must read the sequel to The Notebook - The Wedding, and read Nights in Rodanthe (movie coming soon w/ Richard Gere and Diane Lane), The Guardian, the Rescue, Dear John, and The Choice (OH MY GOODNESS - SO GOOD). He totally has one of my favorite writing styles. With Christian books its Karen Kingsbury.
Anyways - oh - I have Vantage Point coming on blockbuster online - I am glad it is good. I think I want to see What happens in Vegas, too.
I am glad you got to enjoy the books and movies - not to mention a few weeks with your hubby in Australia!! xoxo
