I just had the most wonderful night. Two families, from the local church that the guys have been going to, came over for dinner tonight. There was alot of chatter and fun. At one point when they were talking fast and everything was really loud, I struggled to understand them through the accents, it really just made me laugh.
Seriously, I love seeing the difference in cultures and meeting new people. The women and I had the best time talking to each other and they were so kind and friendly. They were intentional about bringing Aussie food and desserts for us to try. I ate kangaroo tonight and some dessert I won't even try to spell. It really was fun. One of the women got a sheet of paper and wrote down a list of things that I need to do and see. And I was informed of how to ride public transportation, they gave me a lesson in how-to. It looks like I will be wallking to catch the bus all next week. Most of this week I have relaxed around the house and read several books. I'm ready to adventure out, although I am a bit nervous to do it alone.
When our visitors walked into the house we are staying at they said it was very posh:) And later informed us that it was a million dollar house (alot of it is the land value sitting so close to the city). Either way the house is nice AND apparently we are living it up like millionaires.
Tomorrow I'm going with Jeff to his shows which are close to the Gold Coast. I'm excited to see these beautiful beaches I've heard so much about.
Saturday we are going to the Aussie Zoo. I'm looking forward to holding a Koala bear!! BIG PLANS.....
