Well folks I'm embarking on my 3rd day in Australia! I talked to my kiddos this morning and surprising kept it together without crying! I'm missing them but honestly I'm enjoying my time away so I'm not emotional about it yet.
Jeff had a long day on Monday and with it getting dark at 6 here, there hasn't been any chance to adventure out. I spent most of yesterday relaxing, it was wonderful. This morning (Tuesday) I spent 2 hours in bed reading before I even got up for breakfast. I don't think I could live every day of my life being totally self indulgent and lazy but it does make for a nice break. However I did make dinner for everyone yesterday. Two of Jeff's co-workers are here as well. With my presence it made a 4th person to the house which apparently is the number you need to play Texas hold'em. So I learned how to play poker last night and was reminded how guys never really grow up they just get older, especially when they are around a group of guys. Being here makes me realize just how much I don't know about "Jeff's alternate life" (that's what I call his job and travels). Since his co-workers are scattered throughout the country, before this week I had never met a single one of them. It's nice to put faces and personalites with people he talks about and has built friendships with outside of us (I think I only have 13 more guys I need to get to know). Every time he leaves on tour the company always places him with another co-worker and they share the week together in a hotel. So as you can imagine he has gotten close to these great guys. Anyways all that to say is that although my days are slow and relaxing my nights are filled with laughter and fun. I'm glad to be apart of Jeff's alternate life.
And Jaime since you asked you can go to this link and click to watch the video to see what Jeff does, it explains it better then I could. It really is a unique job. http://www.thenedshow.com/NEDshow.asp
