Ty
1. He is full of questions that lead to more questions and then more after that. And my answers have to fully explain the subject. A fun story...last night while I was tucking him in we got on the subject of him getting bigger. I told him he better stop growing up because I want him to stay little forever. His responce..."Then stop feeding me corn!"
2. His obsession for superhero costumes has faded. He will wear them every now and then but it's not his every breath. Just a few month ago the kid lived to dress up and put on a costume. His new obsession is baseball. All things baseball...frankly he has gotten very good at it. He wants to wear sport shorts and and his number one picks were shirts with numbers(b/c ball players have numbers on their jerseys) on it and a shirt with a picture of a baseball.
I had him try on a pair of shorts and he told me..."Mom those look like shorts a baby would wear" he's too cool for my sweet style.
3. He is sweet on his sister (most of the time). And then there are those times that he does something intentional just to make her scream (boy oh boy can the girl scream) But you can tell he loves her and I love that he was never jealous of her and I love that he celebrates in her new skills and milestones. My all time FAVORITE sound is to be in the other room and hear them laughing. They make each other laugh pretty often. Ty loves it when Ava is rough with him...like hitting and pulling his hair he will scream with laughter.
4. He is learning how to read and write. He can write all of his uppercase letters although K and Z give him fits. He loves to sit down with a piece of paper and make words...having me spell them out so he can write them down. He can recognize a few words and we are working on learning to sound them out...right now its hit and miss because he will recognize a few letters and then just guess without sounding it all out.
5. He is a swimmer. It has always been a strong talent of his. The rule at the YMCA is that you have to be able to swim the length of the pool (very long distance)
and be a certain height to go down the slide. The boy swam the whole length and back but as it turned out he was too short...bummer! Over memorial day weekend Ty rode on the tub behind my dad's boat for the first time. My dad started out slow only going 10 mph but but the end of the day he was going 25mph and trying to knock him off (He was driving just as fast as he did with the grown ups!). Ty was the champ and the only one who didn't get thrown off all day. When it was my turn to go he informed me that I was a girl and only boys could do it...Which leads to another thing...
4. He is into the differences of boys and girls and putting each in their category. No longer is pink his favorite color...it is now blue.
5.He loves for me to take pictures of him, thankfully, because I take a lot of them. There have been many times he will say, hey mom look at me and Tater...take a picture of us.
6. A few months back he mastered riding his bike, which is a NEW thing that he loves to do. When I say Mastered I mean he can ride it with training wheels. He was having a hard time making it go forward but now he trys be a stunt man and ride with no hands, he can only do it for a milisecond (but it still makes me laugh)
7. He is a follower of right and wrong. He is stickler for the rules and calls out the cheaters and the liars. We are working on putting a stop to the name calling.
8. He likes to play rhyming games. He or I will say a word and we take turns thinking of as words that rhyme with it. It's silly but a fun thing that bonds us.
9. His imagination is running wild. AND I know it has more room to grow. I love listening to his "ideas" and pretend play. The other day he was building a parking lot for the Astros. Last night we were talking about his room. I am going to decorate it in a surfing theme. He informed me that I could go to the store and get some fabric then his ideas flew on what we could do.
10. BUT my least favorite thing that he does...he whines! Boy oh boy can that boy whine and cry to try and get his way...It is a frequent thing I thought would have passed by now. But I was wrong and the reality is that I know whining will be apart of being a child (I remember doing it up into my teen years...YIKES my poor parents!)
