Party Time

We celebrated Ava's party with granni, grandad, Val (Jeff's sister) and Abraham (Val's boyfriend). Basically is was just a presents party....no cake, no cute 1st B-day decorations, no candles, and we almost forgot to sing happy birthday. Although Ava did have her own little theme going on with a PJ party...her current daily outfit is PJs since she has medicated cream all over her. (which I am happy to report that THE regime is starting to help, she is not completely better but there is definate improvement.
We set the presents all in the middle of the floor. THEN we just let Ava take her time to notice them. She got a limpse of her baby doll (from Ty) in the bag, she took about 3 circles around it then finally dove in and pulled out the doll with ALL smiles. She LOVES babies...she can say "seth" and will BEE-line to him everytime she spots him in a room. She carried the baby practically all night, throwing a screaming fit when Ty tried to play with it. SERIOUSLY it was so sweet. She gave the baby a bottle and pushed it in a swing. (It was her first doll so it was extra special that it came from Ty). Before her party I washed the baby in the washing machine with the NEW detergent and the babies head detached from its body. I used a little craft glue to piece it all back together but I have a feeling as much as Ava has lugged that thing around it will be headless soon. The good news is that we bought it from the dollar store so back ups will be inexpensive to replace.
I bought her present at least 4 months ago and was proud of myself for waiting to give it to her...it was a little doll play set. I wasn't sure if she would play with it yet but to my surprise she did BUT by the end of the night it turned into a climbing toy...my little climber:)
Back to the party...as soon as Ty got wind of the presents he happily helped Ava open ALL of them. Tearing them open and throwing them at her. He helped himself to playing with her new toys, stealing the show to say the least. At one point granni held him (or held him down..whichever). She played with her new music toys then modeled her new super cute dresses from Granni. It was a sweet memory.

Here are the party pictures. They are a bit out of order but you get the picture!
