If you know me, you now how much I love to take pictures. How much I love to capture the special and even the regular moments of our daily life. And so you would know why I am crying my eyes out. Maybe it's stupid to some people why I would get so upset about this but you have to understand....I am a picture person. I think part of my love of pictures is driven by the fear that someday I'll lose my memory and my pictues will be how I can remember it all...I know it sounds dramatic....but then again you have to understand that presently my memory is a bit shabby.
In a nut shell I've lost all of the pictures I've taken over the past 2 years. I probably had more then 2 thousand pictures and videos on my laptop computer. Those of Ty's 3rd and 4th birthday and all the fun days in between PLUS ava's birth and ALL of her FIRSTS. It's a GREAT loss to me and so I sit and BLOG. I had great plans for my pictures...I was going to have then made into a book (www.blurb.com)so I could cherish them forever. NO I rarely printed any off and NO I didn't save them on a CD or flash drive. And I'm not going to go pointing fingers at who caused the error on my computer as the were trying to be helpful and fix my internet problem (I haven't been able to connect for 2 weeks which is why I haven't posted in 2 weeks).
But SERIOUSLY I'm upset. Honestly my pictures are the only ONE thing (excluding people) on this Earth I that would run into a burning building to save. I feel like someone erased my memories while I slept.

Oh, April!!! Are you aure they are lost? This happened to me when my laptop crashed a few months ago, and believe me girl, I CRIED!! We were able (with the help of a computer whiz) to transfer all the info off the computer without turning it on somehow. It cost about $200, but in my opinion it was totally worth the 4 years of pictures I had on that computer. Needless to say, I now back up my entire computer on a portable hard drive... I sure hope you figure something out... In the meantime, use all these precious pictures you have uploaded to your blog!!
April...I'll send you any that I have of your precious family. Before you mess with your computer anymore I would take it in to a computer place and see if they can find them. They say everything is saved to your hard drive and supposisvely you can't earse your hard drive, so I'd take it in somewhere and see if they can work some magic. It would be money well spent!
Oh, April... that stinks BIG time. I am sooooooooo sorry! You take beautiful pictures, thank goodness you have this blog filled with pictures!
April, that's horrible about your pictures. I thought the same thing had happened to me not to long ago, but luckily something else went out on the computer and we were able to retrieve everything. I hope everything works out and that you don't completely lose everything. My uncle is a computer programmer and works with computers all the time. He lives in Pasadena if you need his number, maybe he can help. Let me know.
Oh no, Roomie! I'm so sorry. I hope there's a way to get them back and that all is not lost. I understand, that is truly devestating.
Philip says, as others have, that unless the hard drive was intentionally deleted, they've got to be there somehow. I hope someone can find them!
So I know this is probably really strange, but I got to your blog from Mandy's... I'm her friend Lauren and am engaged to Brady Blanks. He said there is a small chance he can help you recover some of your pictures if you give him a call and let him know what happened. His number is 832-725-5755 and hes hanging out in Houston until I finish school and we get married. Hope he is able to help you!
Oh poor thing! I cannot even imagine. There are no words. I completely agree about running into a burning building for pictures!
