On the 4th we planned to go to some festivities downtown. They started in the afternoon and ended with a Motgomery Gentry concert and a HUGE fireworks show. It was a fun atmosphere with lots of venders, yummy food, free kiddy rides, and music blaring everywhere. Before heading downtown I was having slight contractions but after having false labor twice I wasn't going to let the contractions stop me. As the afternoon passed they became more intense but as long as we kept walking around I could handle it. It was a great distraction being at the festivites. As the night approached and we settle down to claim a spot for the fireworks, eat and watch the concert. At this point I couldn't hide the fact that I was having contraction and Jeff kept asking me if we needed to leave. I was determined to stay until the firworks show was over and Jeff was on strict orders not to say anything or ask questions until after the firworks. I had about an hour until the firworks but then the idea of sitting in traffic for 2 hours fighting the crowd to get home didn't sound fun. I gave in and told Jeff I was ready to leave. Ty was so excited about the fireworks show that Granni, Grandad, and Val stayed so he could watch them. While driving home I decided that maybe we should go to the hospital to be checked to see if I was in real labor. On the drive we did get to see fireworks around that people were shooting off. When we got to the hospital we stopped and watched a show someone was doing in the parking lot. Basically we got to hospital around 9:30 and I was dialated to 5cm... we were going to have a baby!! Ava was born at 2:41 am on July 5th.
