ON TOUR

The boys in Salt Lake City

This picture really doesn't capture the natural beauty of SLC. We were surrounded by mountatins..many of they were snow capped. It was BEAUTIFUL!

We spend one afternoon in the Temple Square. It consumes a huge area of downtown SLC. We took a tour of one of the buildings and learned a quite alot about the Mormons.

Our tour guide snapped a family photo of us on the roof of the building we toured. We didn't get to go into the Morman Tabernacle because it was closed for repairs. Apparently there is supposed to be an earthquake and some of buildings had to get up to code. The building we toured was a convention center. The roof of it was incredible.. there were trees, flowers, and grass and the view was awesome.

These building looked so out of place in the middle of downtown

The coolest spot we found in SLC was this... there were numerous huge blow up toys and a skating rink in which you could ride on anything with wheels. Plus they had nickel arcade games. The best part was that it only cost $5 for unlimited fun. (we spent 7 hours there!)

Yes, we did..we are one of those parents that have "leased" there child. We bought this while we were in SLC and it made our lives SO much easier. Ty's not real big on his stroller and prefers to walk most of the time. So we bought "the bear" (At Target if anyone is interested) . It allowed Ty to walk and it allowed us to keep up with him. He doesn't run off from us, but in a big new city I wanted to take all the precautions. You can't see the back of it in this picture but it's a bear that has a zipper pocket (my keys and walet fit nicely into them) it's leg wrap around him and snap in the front. Ty loves it and thinks of it as a backpack, he says the bear is giving him a hug.

He was a monkey on the blow up toys. We both had a blast playing on these.

While we were in Corpus, Ty and I went to the Texas Acquarium. We spent close to an hour at this exhibit. It was a large pool of shallow water where you could touch the sting rays..the boys was fearless and dove right in. Literally he almost dove into the water trying to touch some of them.

Here we are waiting for the dolphin show. He told me the dolphins were his favorite. We were there long enough to catch 2 of the shows. Actually it was a called a training session but it was still pretty cool.

Jaime, I'm sure you could tell me what the sea turtles name on Find Nemo is..I couldn't remember. The picture doesn't do the turtle justice but, I've never seen one so BIG. I think there were 4 in the tank.. they swam so gracefully in the water.

They wouldn't let us pose with the real alligator so we had to settle for this one.

Opps. posted this one twice.. (I would delete it but every time in the past Ive tried to delete a picture it erased all of them..it took me WAY to long to upload all of these to risk losing them ALL)

Not to my surprise Ty loved the exhibits where he got to touch things. He's holding a "pencil sea urchin" in this picture

Jaime I thought of you when I took this picture and your love of dolphins. This was probably the coolest thing at the acquarium. The dolphins were in a huge tank and there was an underground exnibit were you could see them up close and personal. They swam in circles together and Ty would race along side of them. (it was cool site to see). At one point Ty tripped and fell down and it startled the dolpins, I was surprised that they were actually paying attention to him.

Ty's new phrase is "I am so excited" He was pumped to go to Acquarium. It's sweet how excited he gets about stuff. Can you see the happiness oozzzing out of him.

We are about to conclude our time "on tour." So, I thought I would post some pictures to tell of our adventures. The next family trip is in February..we're going to Greenbay.

And Yes, I do love being on tour, it's like a little vacation. Most days we just relax and play around the pool or find a location playground.

Great "on tour" pics! Isn't the Texas State Acquarium awesome? Of course, the entrance is the best part. We went there when I was way pregnant with Emily - when it was doctor's orders not to travel. I printed off directions to several hospitals in Corpus and on the way - little did I know she would be so stinkin' late! Good memories.
