Here the couple is eating breakfast together. Technically Emily does have on a diaper, she's not a "naked boy" as Ty would say. BUT Yes, they did take a bath together:)
Me and my roomie.
Save the date: Summer 2029 for the Nelson/ Matheny wedding!
Over Labor Day weekend the Matheny’s (plus momma Kate) came to town, for aunt Sarah’s wedding. It was blast from the past back to our ol’ college days staying up late watching chick flicks and eating kettle corn.
It was this weekend that we “arranged” their wedding. Ty practiced saying “Emily Nelson” and I got a kick out of how much he loved her (already). It's fate!
Sara and I were BFF in the 2nd and 3rd grade in New Braunfels. When our family moved away I was devastated to move away from her, I thought my world would fall apart. For the first few years apart we visit each other every summer and would talked on the phone but as time past we grew apart and found other friends and interests. When applying for colleges we both put “potluck” on our housing applications not knowing we were going to be going to the same school. As the Lord would have it, we drew each others name. I was reunited with my childhood BFF. The first night in the dorms we stayed up talking ALL night catching up on 10 years of life. We were college “roomies” up until I got married and we made some great memories. Ohhhh, the memories….
Now we are both mommies of a little boy and a little girl just one year apart from each other. And we will retell this story in 23 years at their wedding.

Haha, I love it! I guess we have a few years to rehearse the story before the wedding. You tell it very well. Have you seen the picture on Carla's myspace of the little Nelson's first kiss? It's very romantic...right there in their mommies' arms. Hehe. That was a great trip!
Ok, so whoever took the REAL picture of them kissing HAS to send me a copy! I'll even pay the 22 cents! I have my entire bedroom door covered in college kiddos.... Emily, Anna, Ty, Emmerson, and Aydan. I have the most of Emily and need this one badly. Sad part is I didn't know you guys put potluck on your housing forms. I thought you picked to be together. Guess that shows how much we talked about the details our freshman year. :) haha. I miss you guys!
Good grief the world is small when your in the C of C family! I didn't know - or forgot - that you were roommates with Sara. And now you both have adorable kids. I expect to receive a wedding invitation in about 20 years.
I also wanted to tell you that my sister lives in Houston, so maybe you'll bump into her when you get down there. She'd be a good person to chat with if you get lonesome when you've first moved.
Love and Blessings,
Elisa
