Spring Break Extravaganza 1

Our Spring break Extravaganza started off a little behind schedule as both kids winded up with a stomach bug. Ty's favorite memory of the whole ordeal was Ava crawling over me in bed while I was sleeping and saying, "mama...." which was followed by her vomiting all over me. Seriously nothing gets you out of bed faster then the sound of throw-up. I once heard a comic say they should make an alarm clock in which the waking up call was the sound of someone throwing up. As a parent it's an automatic "jump to your feet" experience. Actually that experience tied with one we had later in the car on the way to my parents house. We were maybe 15 minutes away when I heard that unwelcoming moan again from the mouth of my babe. However this time it was NOT all over me but all over herself and puddled in her car seat. I had nothing to clean it up with and being so close to my parents I decided to stick it out and keep driving. All the while Ty is telling me that if he looks at Ava and the throw up that he is going to throw up himself. I decided to roll down the windows which means as we pasted the sewage plant, the smell of it made me sick to my preggo stomach and I almost lost it. It was the longest 15 minutes I've ever experienced in a car. But we did make it to my parents and instead of greeting us with a hug, my mom took Ava and hosed her down in the bath tub while I literally had to hose out out her car seat. The joys of motherhood!
Before the unfortunate car experience we had a couple of stops along the way.
As I was heading out of town I heard on the Christian radio station that Micheal W. Smith was doing a free concert at Chick-fil-a. I busted out my TomTom and tracked down the address, it was on our way through town so we stopped in route and joined the other hundreds of people already there. Thankfully I had my stroller and I didn't have to carry or hold Ava the whole time. However it was a particularly hot day to be standing outside in a parking lot singing praise and worship songs with Ty asking every 5 minutes when we were going to leave. We weren't in the best position to see him, it was mainly just his profile so we retreated to some shade off in the distance. Ty found a Roley Polly which provided endless entertainment and I finally got to take in and enjoy it all, it was worth it all just to hear "friends are friends forever."

Once we got back on our road trip and down the road a little I noticed alot of cars were pulling over to the side of the road...when I finally looked to see what all the comotion was about I too joined them and took these pictures. I hoping to get better ones of the kids especailly without the "I just woke up" hair style Ava is sporting. But until then I was pumped I actually got bluebonnet pictures this year.
The kids however were not as excited as I was about the stop. I snapped a picture of their "true attitude" during my little photo shoot.

You have me rolling with laughter! Those puke stories are too funny - not at the time, I know, but still. The worst for me was one time Philip was in Florida and the other three of us were sick...and I threw up on Titus while he was nursing.

Gotta love the bluebonnet photos! I still remember the year you had bluebonnet photos in the snow!
