PARTY TIME!!

This picture just cracks me up. Ty apparently had icing on his face and neck and Chloe took it upon herself to wipe it off. Here she is scrubbing at his face while he is opening presents. He doesn't really seemed bothered by the fact she is wiping him down and continues to open presents.

Ava loved all the big kids, coke and cake. She was a bit HYPER at McDonalds but once we got to the movies she was asleep in Jeff's arms before the previews were over.
At one point I looked over at her and Jeff and they were both snoozing!

In theory I like to make the kids birthday cakes but usually wind up very frustrated b/c I don't have the cake making skills the rest of the females in my family are blessed with. Last year I was about to pull my hair out so my sweet sister Christina
winded up decorating the spiderman cake. I thought this year instead of making one big cake that somehow it would be easier if I made little personal cakes for each of the kids. Once again, in theory it was a good idea. I wanted to make little B.O.B.s (from Monsters vs. Aliens). I stacked cupcakes together to get the 3D effect but they keep falling over FINALLY my brilliant idea was to cook them in coffee mugs. The best part is that B.O.B is a blob so I just slapped icing on them, definitely the easiest cake I've ever made (mainly b/c the perfectionist side of me can't kick in when you are making a blob). I even dyed the cake blue on the inside and the kids got a kick out of eating their own B.O.B's, and I must admit they were delicious.

Ty finally had his birthday party..it was 1.5 months AFTER his actually birthday but due to the specifics of his party requests and timing that's how long it took for everything to come together. He wanted to take his best friends to go see Monsters vs. Aliens. It was the easiest party I've ever done for him and I think he had the most fun just hanging out with his favorite friends. We had it scheduled for Saturday but then Levi came down with pink eye Friday afternoon (and it wouldn't be a party without cousin Levi). So we did a little rearranging and moved to party to Sunday afternoon which turned out perfect. Our original plan was to go to a park eat happy meals for lunch (another request of Ty's, mainly because McDonald's has Monsters vs. Aliens toys in their happy meal), eat cake, open presents, play at the park and then head to the movies. However the the rain (previous post) from the weekend made the park too wet and off limits. Sunday after church we loaded up Ty, Christopher, Chloe, Levi, Titus, and Ava and headed to McDonald's (instead of the park). Can you imagine the looks I got walking in with 6 kids and pregnant with another one? The party was a blast and Ty loved being the center of attention.
