Well folks there is NOT alot of action going on around here.... but then in reality we did have a big weekend. Ava and I attended our 1st mother daughter banquet on Saturday morning...I cried as they played "in my daughters eyes" and a slideshow of pictures. On a side note....I love having my son but I know had I never had a daughter I feel like a sense of my motherhood would be incomplete (I'm sure alot of it has to do with the fact that I'm so close to my mother) but there is something about a little girl that fulfills my creative and my emotional side. While I balled my eyes out the guys went golfing followed by and Astros game last night. I spent the evening cleaning and organizing...loads of fun for a Saturday night. This morning Jeff left about 9am to head to the airport...his days of travel are picking back up. The kids and I attened church with Jeffs parents and the 3 of us came back to the house and I cleaned some more. The kids were supposed to be sleeping but neither one mangaged to get a nap in before it was time to head to the YMCA and go swimming. Seriously folks I LOVE the water!! Lucky for me Ty loves the water as well. He is an awesome swimmer for never having any formal training. He swam the length of ( a normal size) swimming pools all by himself tonight, multiple times. He is like a fish in the water. Ava is taking to the water as well. She already loves bath time and she giggled as "shark" Ty chased us in the water. After about 1.5 hours her time was up...especially without having a nap and Miss Lungs began to scream and cry, which ended our YMCA trip. I look forward to HOT HOT summer days and the cool of the refreshing water as you jump into it.
Miss Ava was fast asleep in her car seat before I could even start the car. She slept for a solid 3 hours and even woke up a little dazed and confused. Tonight I spent time talking to Jeffs folks about how they met and their "love story." I learned that Jerry was only 18 and still in high school when he asked Carolon to marry him...which was just 2 months after they started dating. She said YES and only 2 more months later they got married. CRAZY! And this summer they will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary! In turn I shared mine and Jeffs love story...it got me all gitty and girly thinking about it all. I was so aggressive in chasing him at church camp, he was hot item and I WANTED HIM. It made me remember the first time we kissed (and how ackward it was) the first time he told me he loved me, and the time he told me he wanted to marry me (we were still in high school and it freaked me out bit). I remember in college after being away from him ALL summer while I was in AFRICA and coming back to him. I wanted to persue foreign missions and he wanted to do youth ministry in the states and we broke up for 3 days...which are probably the 3most tear filled days of my life. I vividly remember the night we said..."hey why don't we get married!" and crunching the numbers in the Harding library to prove to ourself (but mainly my DAD) we could survive financially. Boy oh boy I love that man. We have been together as a couple since we were 17...ohhh to be young and in love. But what's even better the young LOVE is being MARRIED to the man I love and raising our children......
What a fun night of memories.

That pic of Ava "cruising it at 9 months" is soooooo adorable. One of my all time favorites!
I LOVE this post! We're water-lovers here, too, but it's much to cold still! I'm jealous.
And the stroll down memory lane was great. *sigh* How fun to remember the early years! (Not that these years aren't fun, but it's totally different with KIDS!)
