My little man is officially four years old. He is been waiting and wanting to be four for so long. It stinks to be the youngest one out of all your friends who turned four over 6 months ago.
The way he explains it, “I went to bed and when I woke up I was just 4.”
The night before I had decorated the living area between our two rooms in the hotel with a banner, balloons, signs, and then laid out his present. I was hoping that he would see the decorations and get excited (kind of like Christmas) but he missed them completely.
The day had a sweet beginning. He woke up around 8:30 and crawled into bed with me. I continued to struggle to wake up for the next 30 minutes, but the deadline to eat the continental breakfast was approaching so I pulled myself out of bed. I had to hint at him that it was his birthday TODAY and his present was in the living room. The word PRESENTS got him so excited and gitty especially when he saw his BATMAN costume!! He started laughing he was so pumped, I love him enthusiasm.
He started stripping his clothes as soon as he saw it and the it didn’t come off until he took a bath and went to bed tonight.
Tater put a damper on our plans for the morning with her 3 hour nap only 1 hour after she woke up from sleeping for 14 hours (can you tell we ran her ragged this weekend). Once she finally woke up it started to down pour. So instead of playing basketball and swimming all afternoon we sat inside playing on the bed and watching movies.
When Jeff got home we headed to the dining room for dinner then we went to the Melting Pot for dessert! It was YUMMY! I had never been before but Ty and I were very satisfied. We made the mistake of putting Ava in a high chair at the end of the table and as we were stuffing our face she was playing with the knob to the hot plate and she turned it to high…it made the chocolate fondue steaming hot and then burned it. Fortunately we were almost done when she scorched the dessert.
Of course Ty had to wear his batman costume all day which included the fancy Melting Pot so he got a lot of attention. Plus I had made reservations and told them we were celebrating Ty’s 4th birthday. Several of the staff come over to talk to batman and wish him a happy birthday. Ty wondered how everyone knew his name (batman) and that is was his birthday. The waiter surprised us by bringing a plate full of brownies with 4 candles and we sang happy birthday. The whole experience was sweet and special!
After our fine dinning, we went to Chucky Cheese to run around and play games. As it turned out we had the whole place to ourselves but soon found out it was a ghettoville Chucky Cheese wear half the games didn’t work and swear one of the games had throw up on it….it gave me flash backs to our tour in Phoenix. I made Ty take a bath when he got home. He informed me that since he is 4, he can take a bath all by himself…and so he did. He washed his whole body and hair and I sat and watched tv…a mothers dream to pass on more of the self care skills. Now if only Ava could change her own diapers…better yet maybe I should teach Ty how to do it.
Well that was the break down of the day for all the family who wanted to know what Ty did on his birthday. Now he is anxiously awaiting his superhero birthday part on Saturday when we get home.

Happy birthday to Ty! The Melting Pot, huh? Fancy shmancy! Ava looks pretty happy in those photos. I hope we get to see ya'll again now that Ava and Titus could really play together.
hey there - oh the kiddos are so cute! Ava seems so much more grown up than Emma even though they are 5days apart... emma just started scooting around... as for austrailia - you should go... i know it is rough being away from the munchkins but the time with Jeff and just you might not happen again til the kids are in college! GO!
