Superheros UNITE

Jumping and dodging bean bags at the same time

Ty TORE through the presents. He was in such a hurry to see what the next gift was, I was having a hard time keeping up with all of them. All his little friends were really into the present opening as well...by the end they were all helping him rip into it and getting just as excited to see the presents.

A sweet little princess

Uncle Doug got Ty a ROCKIN guitar. He and my mom jammed to the B-day song at the "after party"

Granni wanted to buy Ty an Easter suit (the kid have ENOUGH toys). She paired it with a superman PJ set and we told him it was a Clark Kent outfit...he was so EXCITED about it. He wore it to church the next day just like this. He tried to keep his identity secret and informed everyone was Clark Kent NOT Superman.

Jeff's family kept Ava in the "safe zone" when the bean bag war took place.

Picking up candy at the pinata broke. Some of the kids were picky about what they wanted to put in their bag and were very diligent about only getting the pieces they liked.

After the pinata was emptied, Peyton (my brother in law)took a swing out of it attempting to break it into pieces. Jeff was controling the rope making it a swing and miss...

My mom and sister enjoying the beautiful day. Chris and Cory were AWESOME to host Ty's B-day party at their new house.

My brother and dad pegging the kids with bean bags.

My friend Britton and her little 2 week old baby made it to the party as well.

The boys playing their own superhero fight...all in fun...

Picking up more candy

Wonder women had the right idea. She joined forces with the "big boys" and gathered and delivered the bean bags to aviod getting them thrown at her.

My sweet friends Rhonda and Angell

There was a few casulities of war...actually there were only 2 hard hits one with Ty and one with Levi (who got hit twice by his dad)

I can't take credit for Ty's birthday cake. Christina actually made it...didn't she do an AWESOME job!! I don't have the gift to decorate cakes like my mom and sisters...I can decorate but it takes me HOURS (like 5) when it should only take 1.5.
I ran out of time to get everything done so my sister helped me out.

At one point Ty turned and started pegging me with bean bags...TRADER!

Superfriends

To sum up this past weekend I would have to say it WON the prize for my FAVORITE weekend of the year.

Ty had his 4th birthday party and all of his FAMILY minus 2…we missed you Mandy and Chelsea came for the festivities…even the newest addition, baby Addision at a mere 2 weeks old made an appearance. Plus this was Ty’s first party that he actually had FRIENDS come.
I had a blast planning out every detail of his party with games and activities. The theme was superhero “training camp” where all the activities were geared to test their superhero skills…red light/green light to test their speed, small bean bags to knock over bottles (with pictures of villains) to test their aim and accuracy, a piñata to test their strengthen, pin the mask on Spiderman to test their x-ray vision, and a web making game with string (a little complicated to explain)…we ran out of time for the last 2.
BECAUSE what I failed to plan for was the fact that Ty had been away from his friends for 3 weeks and the most important thing on his mind was just to PLAY with them.
It was a beautiful day for romping outside and with the boys dressed up as super heroes and the girls playing the princesses (or damsels in distress) there was a lot of great pretending going on.
The bean bag game took on a life of its own as the children became moving targets as the “big boys” hurled the bean bags at them. It turned out to be more fun this way and the “big boys” got involved in the action as well.

I made batman capes and tutus for the kids along with masks and wands to complete the their SUPER look.

After we cracked the piñata we ran back inside to EAT CAKE, and in place of the cake was a note from the JOKER saying he had hide the cake and the kids would NEVER find it. You should have seen the look on the kids faces as they searched all over the house…totally believing the JOKER had come while they were outside. Ty is still talking about how JOKER took his B-day cake.

After the party my family hung around and we had a great time talking and laughing…I felt so blessed to have everyone there. Have I mentioned that I LOVE the fact that we ALL live close enough to make it for weekend birthday parties.

Maybe it was just me, but this BIRTHDAY was my favorite one yet
