I see skies of Blue...what a wonderful world.

Today was one of those days that make me smile to be alive. To graze in the bliss of God's beauty of creation. Orginally I had planned today as a "domestic day" where I do all the house wife things (shopping for food, cooking and clean..the works). By no means do I enjoy these kinds of activites....and this probably is the reason why I prefer to call myself a stay at home mom vs. a house wife. There is a difference, the house wife tends to the needs of the home and house and the expectation is that the house will remain orderly. A stay a home mom in my book is just required to tend to the children and their needs...such a much more enjoyable task!! I admit I enjoy the home cooked meals and the clean house but I would prefer to pay someone to do it:) For this reason I have to mandate a domestic day at least once a week where I make myself get the house all in order. However after spending 2 hours in the grocery store today I came home to cook and feed my craving for mashed potatoes, brocoli and cheese, and a tall glass of milk. It was the perfect afternoon as I sat in the kitched with the sliding glass door open (screen door closed) and watched Ty with only his skiddies on playing in the water sprinker and forcing the dogs to play with him. The weather was beautiful today, I can feel Spring trying to break through. I peeled 5 pounds of potatoes while I listened to some country music on the radio, they were playing George Strait songs all afternoon. It was so relaxing to kick my feet up with the cool breeze blowing through the screen door, all the while laughing at Ty as he chased the dogs around with a pitcher of water and George Strait playing in the background. It was a PERFECT afternoon. And I might add I made the best mashed potatoes money can buy and stuffed myself silly.
The downside...domestic day wasn't completely fulfilled, I was so wrapped up in the afternoon that I "forgot" to do the cleaning part..oh well the floors, laundry, dishes, and toilets will still be there tomorrow or until the next mandated domestic day:)
