Merry Christmas

Tis the season. Yes folks I am one of those people that LOVE to celebrate CHRISTMAS and the season. I love the atmosphere, cheesy music, and being with family.
I AM one of those that starts celebrating Nov. 1 (ASAP as Halloween is over). Earlier this week Ty and I were in Wal-Mart and intentionally went to the Christmas section just to see all the decorations and hear the music we BOTH got so excited.
One of my favorite part of being a parent at Christmas is playing Santa Clause.
Last year as it approached, Ty would see things that he wanted and beg for them, I could simply say…just ask Santa for it and be done with it (b/c by the time we got home he forgot about it). All he wanted last year was the movie CARS. Simple enough.
But this year the kid has a HUGE list of things he is wanting. I told him Santa will only bring him 3 things since he is 3 years old. His list WAS a #1 helicopter with a remote control (we saw it at the mall about 2 months ago. and he HAD to have it so I told him to put it on his Santa list…way back in September), #2 the movie INCREDIBLES, and #3 a wolverine costume (you might think its random that he wants a wolverine costume but all I will say is that his cousin has one and NOW he wants one so they can match).
I thought I would be clever and wait until after Halloween and buy the costume…bad IDEA! I can’t find it anywhere. Yes I have looked on ebay and on-line stores but I am NOT paying over $40 dollars for a costume no matter how BAD he wants it.
So last night I had the idea of looking for an Incredibles costume. Low and behold I found one at a good price so I bought it right away. I had decided that I was going to just have Santa write him a letter and explain the change in costume…from Wolverine to Dash. I thought he would be THRILLED and so excited about his Dash costume. The kid is so specific in what he wants I wanted some element of surprise instead of expectation.
But then this morning at RANDOM only 10 hours after making my secret on-line purchase last night, Ty announces to Levi that Santa is going to bring him a Dash costume…WHAT? Is the kid physic? I was totally bummed that he was asking for it now, b/c I really wanted to see the look of surprise on his face. Either way Christmas this year will be exciting. As I child I looked forward to Christmas Day (when you FINALLY get all of the presents) but now I’m almost bummed when Christmas day comes b/c that means the holiday is over…and people think you are weird if you keep singing Christmas songs…but I LOVE Christmas songs…
Sooooooooooooo Let me be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas!!!
