Week in Review

The BEST WEEK EVER started last Saturday when Ty and I went to B-town to spend Easter with my parents. My sister Jennifer and her family came as well as my brother and his wife. We went out to eat on Saturday to celebrate Jenn's 30th birthday (happy b-day sis) and had the most interesting experence at the restaurant. I won't go into details but is was one of those times when everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Including the electricity going off just as we recieved our food. Like always the fam made a joke of it all and we laughed it off together. I failed to mention it was snowing LIKE CRAZY! Which caused the electricity to go off at my parents house as well, and stayed off for our entire visit. It was a cold night and a interesting morning getting ready for Easter Sunday with no electricity. BUT the snow was beautiful and unexpected. After church we took pictures with bluebonnets in the snow THAT was sight that doesn't happen often. Uncle Doug stood in for daddy as the Easter bunny. We had Ty and Brooklyn hide in my parents room while the Easter bunny knocked at the door and hide the eggs. Doug used this fake high pitched voice which was good enough to fool Ty b/c when he heard bunny Doug knocking and talking he went WILD with excitment jumping on the bed screaming for us to open the bedroom door. I wish I had a video camera to record his reaction...it's one of those precious moments I will never forget. (I don't have any pictures of Easter at this time I had to use my moms camera but rest assure I will post them eventually:)
We left my parents house that night just in time to pick up one of my favorite people at the air port ...Jenn. She was one of my college roomates and she flew all the way from Indiana to spend the week with me:) My other college roomate, Sara, was in town with her husband on a business trip. The timing couldn't have worked out more perfect..it had been several years since I had serious girl time with these 2. Since this was Jenn first time to the big Texas city we planned out our days to the max. Here goes...
Monday- We picked up Sara and her daughter Emily at her sisters house and headed for a day at the zoo. The weather was beautiful..not too hot and not too cold. After the zoo we watched the kids play at the duck pond feeding the birds our leftover lunches. My fearless boy loved to throw food to the birds and then run throw them to watch them scatter. We could have been there all night had me not run out of chips.
Tuesday- Jenn and I picked up Sara and headed back to my casa. We spend the day watching the kids play and chatting. That night I hosted a jewerly party for Jenn and we got to see her salesmen skills plus try on all her fabulous jewerly.
Wednesday- We all headed to and outlet mall and hit up a HUGE sale at the Chilren's Place. Ava got lots of cute winter clothes at bargain prices. I even bought her a snow suit...not that it snows this far south but it was $1.99 and you just can't pass up a deal like that. We feasted for lunch at the Rain Forest Cafe:) After taking Sara home Jenn got to fully experience traffic. We sat in for 2.5 hours trying to travel a mere 30 miles. However this was the one time I didn't mind it so much because Jenn and I just chated away (except that I was driving a stick shift and the ride got a little bumpy). Jenn helped me help teach Ty's bible class Wednesday night (Ty got to show her some of his new good friends) and that evening we headed to Jeff's parents house to spend the night with them so we could cut the drive to the beach in half.
Thursday- We went to Galveston. We shopped on the strand, played at the beach, and even rode on the fairy. On our way home we stopped at Kema (one of my favorite places) in an effort to avoid traffic. Kema turned out to be our favorite part of the day was we walked along the bay and just took in the atmoshpere.
Friday-We intened to go to the YMCA and spend a day poolside working on our tan but as we headed out the door it started to ran and the chill in the wind convinced us to turn around and snuggle up with a move at home. That evening we ventured off to try out a new spot, Incredible Pizza. It a huge pizza place that has a buffet with tons of video games, race cars, bowling, putt-putt and bumper cars all inside the joint. We spent several hours there having fun and left just in time to drop a car off at the airport for Jeff. (Jeff got home around 1am)
Saturday- Ty and I woke up to take Jenn to the airport to catch her 7am flight. And when I got home...I spent most of the day sleeping trying to make up for the late hours of girl talk and chick flicks we had all week.
It was the BEST WEEK EVER!
