Birthday Boy

The birthday invitation... It read:
Cookie Monster is here to say
It's time to celebrate TY's 2nd birthday
There's going to be a party, March 4th is the date
It starts at 11am so please don't be late.
Big Bird, Elmo and Snuffy all said they could come
If you're going to be there please phone Ty's mum
Food, fun and monsters to greet
It all takes place on Sesame Street.
This party is brought to you by the letter T and the number 2
I made Ty a cookie monster cake for his birthday party. It didn't turn out as well as one of my moms but, I have many more years of practise in me. The best part is that it tasted delicious and Ty could tell it was cookie monster.

We had the major players of the Sesame Street Gang represented.
I did make a big goof by having open faced cups. Ty can drink out of one and didn't even think about the other toddlers not being able to. Let's just say there were a few spills!
I covered some of the tables with Sesame Street wrapping paper. The balloons in this picture are part of the party favors. I attached each balloon to a Bert and Ernie bag that had a CD with a collection of Sesame Street "Monster Music" songs. Ty LOVES LOVES LOVES to sing, so I thought it would be the perfect party favor.
Although I sent out Cookie Monster invitations, made a CM cake and dressed Ty in a CM shirt....his favorite character is actually Elmo with Snuffy in a close 2nd.
Ty's second birthday was a blast! We had it last Saturday morning at the local McDonalds. There was an indoor play gym which was perfect for a bunch of toddlers to play on.
Although I invited a ton of people, it was a busy weekend for other events so there wasn't a huge crowd there for the party. But it seemed like the whole town was eating at McDonalds. Literally 2 bus loads of kids showed up from some choir competition in town. However we had our own private area which made it nice. Two of my kids from school were also there. One of the families I am really close to. Their little boy has autisum and has been in my class for the past 18 months, we've gone through a lot together. After the party was over we gave him and his cousins the extra cake and party favors.
