The summer is coming to an end. I'm excited for it to end so we can have Jeff back. Only 1 more week without him...then we are taking a vacation to the beach for a week. And the following week Ty will start Kindergarten. I'm afraid the next 2 weeks are going to fly bye so quickly that I'm going to be in shell shock when the big day arrives on the 24th. I've created a nice little protective bubble for him and I know it's about to pop as he is "exposed" to the world and a crew of kids with different moral and values...ok I know I'm being a bit dramatic!
I anxious to see how everything will work out...his friends, his teachers, his school work. We're talking about grand undertaking of education that will not end until 13 more years.
This week I've gotten a sneak peek of what our days will be like. Ty's been gone all week camping in Colorado with my parents and Levi. It's just been me, Ava and Ali. There has been a weird quiet and calm around the house without his 5 year old energy. Ava has enjoyed being the center of attention and not having Ty pester her.
However she's been missing him as she has wanted to sleep in his, wear his shirt, socks and his underware....SIDENOTE: funny thing about the underware. She loves Ty's underware and always asks to wear it. A few months before Ali was born I really wanted to have her potty trained so I didn't have to buy double diapers. I had Ty potty trained at 20 months so around 19 months I started working on it Ava with NO LUCK and just about decided I would WAIT and try again later. A few week later she got obsessed with Ty's under ware and would constantly pull them out of his drawer and put them on herself. I finally told her that she could only wear Ty underware if she went potty...and THAT folks is how I potty trained Ava. I bribed her by getting to wear her brothers underware, and that was the TICKET. And at 20 months she was potty trained as well. Do you think there is anything wrong with a girl who wears boys undies? That Ava girl needs an older sister, she tries so much to be like Ty. I've even caught her trying to "potty" standing up like Ty...now that was a mess.
ANYWAYS...
Ty comes back Friday and Jeff flys in on Saturday for about 20 hours before he has to fly out again.
My kids are growing up under my nose and I don't feel old enough to have one going to Kindergarten. Jeff is taking off work the first day of school so he can take Ty...the girls and I will be tagging along as well. Seriously I have issues with people getting older. I'm rambling so I'll go...I'm taking the girls to the children's museum tomorrow, I better get some sleep.

I think it's sweet that Ava loves her brother so much. It's pretty unbelieveable that you'll soon have a kid in kidergarten!
Oh man... we are getting old aren't we? Anna starts preschool this fall and it scares me so much... the exposure to others values, morales, etc... knowing I won't be able to control her every move... i know i need to let go and Let God but oh it is so hard...
Hey!! How are you doing? I can't believe Ty is starting kindergarten!! I can't wait to see pictures!!
