Well folks we had out first OB/GYN visit today for baby Nelson #2! Jeff got to come with me and endure the long wait (we were there for 3 hours!!) I randomly picked a doctor out of the yahoo yellow pages after reading a good review about him. Needless to say I was a little uneasy about going to a complete stranger.I figured I could always change if I didn't like him. The doctor was great and personable and Jeff and I both really liked him. All is well in baby land! Since I am almost 13 weeks pregnant I was expecting to hear the baby's heartbeat but we had no such luck instead we got to get an ultrasound which was AWESOME! The little thing was flipping and flopping around, it was the COOLEST thing! They said the reason they couldn't find the heartbeat was because the little burger wouldn't stop moving. We did get to hear it with the ultrasound machine and I cried! It doesn't matter how many babies I have, it first heartbeat always gets me. The miracle of life is just that..a miracle!!
I got my official due date from the doctor today it is July 4th!

How funny - we are opposites. With Emily my doctor did an ultrasound at the first visit for everyone, so we saw her at 10 weeks and opted not to get the mid-pregnancy ultrasound. That first appointment was so incredible. Having never had a baby before, we didn't know what to expect and didn't know until we got there that we'd get that early ultrasound. I'll never forget when she started doing a little dance.
You did Ty like we're doing this one (with just the mid-pregnacy ultrasound) and then your second little one like we did Emily (at least so far). How funny. Well, what really matters is they're all happy and healthy! Yeah for babies!
Jeff!, You Still Got It!!!!!
Congrats Nelsons! I am so happy and yes the miracle of a healthy child is a blessing. Hope to see you someday. WHitney
April - that is so exciting that you had an ultrasound. I have actually already had 2. I had 5 with Anna - lots of little complications here and there and with this one the same complications so far but the baby is still fighting and doing well. My last ultrasound was at 10 weeks and in two weeks I have my 14 week check up so we will see if they can find the heartbeat with the doppler! Congrats again. I think we should plan a reunion at HU in the fall to show off our new babies!
